Lucky is an absent-minded junior botanist who is easily distracted from his own work by the next task that catches his eye. His father arranges a marriage with the daughter of a senior botanist, Panduranga Rao — but Rao quickly decides to break the alliance after learning about Lucky’s fragile focus and warns him not to show up again. On a routine stop to donate blood to his boss, Lucky’s heart unconsciously shifts toward a new connection: Nandana, a graceful Kuchipudi dance teacher, and he becomes smitten in a moment of distraction. He even creates a moment of fortune by unknowingly donating blood to one of her students, leaving a positive impression without fully intending to.

Lucky’s charm is undercut by his own memory lapses. In their early and frequent meetings, he keeps forgetting small, ridiculous things—like stepping out without his shoes or inadvertently handing over his motorbike keys to a beggar—yet he tries to shield his flaw from Nandana by painting himself as a generous philanthropist. What he does not realize is that Nandana is Rao’s daughter—the very young woman he was supposed to marry before. Into this swirl enters Inspector Ajay, a rival in love who also finds himself drawn to Nandana, setting up a competition of affections that complicates Lucky’s earnest feelings.

A misadventure on her birthday becomes a turning point. When Ajay attempts to propose, Lucky inadvertently becomes intimately involved with Nandana in a moment that leads to chaos: he ferries Nandana’s pregnant sister-in-law to a hospital as she goes into labor. The arrival of the baby prompts a tender moment when Nandana herself proposes to Lucky, and the two begin a relationship as a couple.

As the two start to imagine a future together, Nandana reveals that her father has given his blessing and wants to meet Lucky. Rao’s first meeting with Lucky is awkward and fraught, especially after Rao insults Lucky during a clash with a young girl near a pond. Disturbing the delicate balance of their romance, Lucky realizes that Nandana is Rao’s daughter and flees, hoping to protect their bond from the stern patriarch. Yet their feelings endure, and Lucky crafts a plan to win Rao’s trust by having a friend pose as Nandana’s lover and by taking up Rao as an apprentice.

In a series of misunderstandings, a family naming ceremony spirals into confusion: Rao’s nephew mistakes Lucky’s friend as the lover of Nandana, while everyone else assumes Lucky himself is her suitor. The confusion deepens when Lucky visits a sick Nandana, hoping to spend time with her, and Ajay’s team captures a video of Lucky romancing her. Back at home, Ajay uses the footage to expose Lucky’s supposed mental condition to Nandana, driving a wedge between them and causing their breakup.

Rao, recognizing the sincerity of Lucky’s love, pushes Nandana to choose Lucky over Ajay at the moment of her engagement to the inspector. When Ajay makes plain that he intends to marry Nandana by force, Rao challenges Lucky to step up—this time without forgetting. The elder man reveals that he has been watching Lucky since their hospital encounter, measuring how amnesia could influence the relationship.

Lucky makes a bold move. He visits the temple where the wedding is scheduled, but his memory slips again, and he buys a lemon soda instead. That seemingly trivial act is part of a larger ruse to lure Ajay’s henchmen into a false sense of security. WithAjay’s thugs distracted, Lucky arrives at the true venue—a secluded aluminium factory—and, after a brief duel with Ajay, formalizes his marriage to Nandana in a nontraditional yet decisive ceremony.

A week later, Rao visits the newlyweds and finds that Lucky’s condition has shown signs of improvement since the ceremony. In their conversations, Rao mentions that Ajay has been missing for a week, prompting curiosity from Lucky’s side as he recalls a prior moment when he tied Ajay up with rope at the factory. When he reaches the scene, Ajay questions why he never released him, and Lucky simply replies, “Sorry boss, I forgot!”

This blend of memory lapses, affectionate misadventures, and a determined late-life romance gives way to a conclusion in which Lucky and Nandana navigate their marriage with humor, care, and a quiet resilience. The film ends on a playful note, underscored by Lucky’s continued, if imperfect, devotion to his wife and an acknowledgment that his forgetfulness, while troublesome, cannot erase the depth of his love.
