Two friends, Liaq and Harman, pull off a bank robbery in Pune and seize a car that belongs to Misha and her young son Robin. During the high-stakes chase that follows, Robin is pitched from the vehicle and [Misha] is fatally shot. In accordance with their plan, Harman escapes, while the police—led by Inspector Govind—catch Liaq. The tragedy claims the lives of Misha and Robin, leaving Raghav Purohit, Misha’s husband and Robin’s father, utterly devastated.

Raghav lashes out in grief, attacking Liaq in prison and turning to a private detective to uncover Liaq’s partner’s identity. That partner turns out to be a sex worker named Jhimli, but she refuses to cooperate. In a surge of anger, Raghu—a name he often goes by—assaults her. Liaq is convicted for the robbery and sentenced to years in jail, while Raghu withdraws from society and retreats into a reclusive life far from Pune.

Fifteen years pass. Liaq becomes terminally ill and longs to spend his remaining days with his mother Zeenat. A social worker, Shobha, asks Raghu to forgive Liaq, but he declines. Zeenat later reunites Raghu with the news that Liaq’s partner’s name has been revealed, with the aim of securing a compassionate parole. Liaq is released, albeit watched by a plainclothes officer to keep tabs on Harman.

Raghu tracks down Harman and is invited to lunch by Harman’s wife, Koko, where the true stakes come to light. Harman denies killing Misha and Robin, while Koko pleads for mercy. Raghu insists that Koko sleep with him in exchange for protecting Harman, and he forcefully brings Koko into a room to make Harman think they’re having sex.

Liaq reaches out to Harman for his share of the money, but Raghu murders both Koko and Harman with a hammer. He next visits Shobha and pretends to be in love, crafting a convincing alibi for himself. Liaq learns that Zeenat gave Harman’s name to Raghu in exchange for his freedom. Shobha is furious when she discovers Raghu’s claim that they had sex, sparking a confrontation between Raghu and Liaq. Liaq points out a stark difference: he killed Raghu’s family in a panic, whereas Raghu plotted multiple murders with cool detachment.

Before his death, Liaq goes to see Jhimli, who is now the concubine of a local businessman, Patil. The connection to this line of inquiry is reinforced by Patil himself. Inspector Govind presses Raghu, attempting to blackmail him for Liaq’s share of the money.
