Former Navy SEAL Mike McBride, Roy Brown, and Hunter Whiley operate as private contractors known as the Shadow Warriors. McBride is plagued by unexplained, traumatic flashbacks that hint at deep past losses. The trio's vigilante mercenary work is established as the group’s norm.

FBI wanted list triggers a realization

While reviewing a referenced FBI most-wanted list, McBride learns the cause of his flashbacks. He identifies Kyle Reynolds as Dr. Sarkisian, the war criminal nicknamed the Death Merchant. He suspects Sarkisian faked his death and changed his appearance through plastic surgery.

Powers joins the mission team

McBride's longtime friend Andy Powers, though still a government employee, agrees to help the Shadow Warriors. He joins hoping for a hefty reward if Sarkisian is alive. The team expands beyond its core members to include an experienced ally.

From McBride’s capture, the team learns that Sarkisian and Jamal intend to unleash a deadly gas attack on Seattle. The missiles would be dispatched from a hidden base in Western Canada. The plan is set with a countdown of 72 hours.

Sarkisian injects McBride with a poison before leaving him. The toxin compounds the urgency for the Shadow Warriors to rescue him quickly. The betrayal demonstrates Sarkisian’s ruthlessness.
