Spoilers ahead
Bobby Patterson travels by ferry to a quiet bed and breakfast for a romantic getaway with his girlfriend, Jules Rable. However, instead of a relaxing vacation, Bobby discovers he is trapped in a disturbing time loop where the couple repeats the same day over and over. Every single loop concludes with the pair being murdered by a mysterious hooded figure.
Despite his desperate attempts to avoid death or flee the island, Bobby remains trapped; the local ferry service has been shut down to memorialize a couple who were previously murdered under mysterious circumstances. Seeking answers, Bobby questions the bed and breakfast owner, Pearl, who cryptically advises him to “do the right thing.”
As the loops continue, flashbacks reveal a strained relationship fueled by suspicions of infidelity. Bobby’s frustration grows, leading to clashes with locals, including Mark. During one loop, Bobby confesses to a bartender that he cheated on Jules with one of her friends, resulting in a pregnancy and a forced abortion. The bartender insists that the only way out is for Bobby to be honest with Jules.
After another violent encounter with the hooded figure, Bobby finally confesses the truth about the affair and the abortion, as well as a previous infidelity. This honesty successfully breaks the loop, but Bobby wakes up to find Jules is gone. He returns home alone, only to be arrested for the murder of Jules Rable. It is revealed that Bobby had actually killed her before the trip because she wanted to leave him. While imprisoned and receiving psychiatric help, Bobby reads a letter Jules wrote about her desire to end their relationship. Though he confesses to the crime, he maintains that the surreal events of the time loop truly happened.
