Born on March 17, 1994 in Lagos, Nigeria, Zephani Idoko grew up as the youngest of six children to parents Deborah and John Idoko. After relocating to the United States, she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she studied under renowned mentor Diane Baker. While still an undergraduate, Idoko began auditioning and modeling, gaining early experience in both front‑of‑camera work and runway shows. Upon graduating, she moved to New York City, immersing herself in the city’s vibrant theatre and indie‑film scene, where she honed her craft through countless workshops and stage productions. In New York, her breakout came when she was cast as Abena in the independent psychological horror film The Unsettling, a role that showcased her ability to convey deep emotional nuance within a suspenseful narrative. The film toured major festivals across Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States before its 2023 theatrical and streaming release. Following this success, Idoko secured a supporting role as Sallay in Nikyatu Jusu’s Nanny, a Blumhouse and Amazon Studios horror picture that won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. Her performances have been highlighted in Photobook Magazine and OkayAfrica, where she discussed the challenges of horror storytelling. More recently, Idoko joined the recurring cast of Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost as Stephanie and appears as Ashley in the second season of HBO Max’s Gossip Girl.
