Yuriy Yurievich Nazarov (born 7 March 1937 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union) is a renowned Russian film and television actor whose career spans more than six decades. From his early days at the Saint‑Petersburg State Theatre School, where he graduated in 1960, Nazarov quickly became a fixture of Soviet and post‑Soviet cinema, debuting on screen in the early 1960s and earning critical acclaim for his powerful, often gruff‑voiced characters. He is perhaps best known for his role as Moskalyov in the classic war epic Brother Warrior (1972) and for his memorable turn as the cunning gangster Sidorov in the cult favorite The Long Road Home (1980), performances that cemented his reputation as a versatile character actor capable of both intense drama and dark humor.
