Yurie Kozakai is a Japanese voice actress born on July 6, 1995, in Higashiura, Aichi, Japan, who is currently affiliated with the talent agency Crocodile. Kozakai began her professional career in 2012 at the age of 16, after passing an audition for the role of Mirai Higashiura in the multimedia project Chita Musume., which produced anime shorts designed to promote the Chita Peninsula. Having developed an interest in music during childhood, she took piano lessons early on and later became fascinated with anime during her elementary school years, influenced by neighborhood children. During this formative period, she played the flute in a marching band, participated on a track and field team, and taught herself the guitar out of admiration for the musician Yui. While attending high school, Kozakai joined a light music club, expressing her desire to carry a guitar to her school. She first became inspired to pursue voice acting after watching Bleach. Together with her fellow Chita Musume. actresses, Kozakai won the Best Performance Group Award at the Taipei International Travel Fair for three consecutive years. In 2014, she was officially appointed as the Tourism Ambassador of Higashiura, and she joined the Crocodile talent agency in 2017. Her first major anime role came in 2018 as Pekola in the television series Dropkick on My Devil!, for which she also performed the series' opening theme 'Ano Ko ni Dropkick' alongside her co-stars. That same year, Kozakai became a member of the voice actress idol unit Guil Drops, created by Riho Iida as part of BS Fuji's television program Japacon Project, and she additionally began working as a ring announcer for World Wonder Ring Stardom. Kozakai graduated from college in March 2019 and received her first lead role as Ichika Arima in the 2021 anime series Koikimo. Among her other notable anime performances are Yuki Yoshikawa in Horimiya, alongside roles in Talentless Nana, World's End Harem, Miss Kuroitsu From the Monster Development Department, Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, My Life as Inukai-san's Dog, Summoned to Another World... Again?!, and Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2. In February 2023, she was featured in the magazine Weekly Playboy as a gravure model. Her video game work includes voicing Grozovoy in Azur Lane and various characters in Girls' Frontline.
