Tara Thaller, born Tara Filipović on 31 March 1998 in Zagreb, Croatia, grew up in a close‑knit family with two siblings and quickly developed a love for storytelling that would shape her future career. From her earliest school days she participated in local drama clubs, honing her craft through stage performances and improvisation exercises, and her natural charisma caught the attention of regional casting directors. In 2014 she made her cinematic debut with the film Ljubav ili smrt, marking the official start of a professional trajectory that would span more than a decade. Although she initially used her birth surname, she later adopted the stage name Thaller, a tribute to her great‑grandmother’s maiden name, and formally changed it after her first major film appearance, a decision that also helped her stand out in the competitive Croatian entertainment market. In 2018 she broadened her public profile by competing on the popular quiz show Volim Hrvatsku, showcasing her quick wit and cultural knowledge, and the following spring she won the Croatian edition of the singing competition Just the Two of Us alongside acclaimed vocalist Dino Jelusić, demonstrating a versatile talent that extended beyond acting.
