Suzanne Roquette (30 August 1942 – 28 May 2020) was a German actress whose career spanned nearly four decades in film and television, leaving an indelible mark on cult science fiction television. Born in Weimar or Berlin, Germany during the height of World War II's aftermath, Roquette would eventually relocate to the United Kingdom, where the majority of her professional work was produced. Her career began in 1964, and she remained active in the entertainment industry until 2001, accumulating a diverse body of work across both the big and small screens. Although she took on numerous supporting and guest roles throughout her career, Roquette is most widely recognized for her portrayal of Main Mission operative Tanya Alexander in the first season of the iconic British science fiction series Space: 1999, produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. She appeared in 22 episodes of the show, contributing significantly to the series' memorable portrayal of Moonbase Alpha and its crew, and her role earned her a devoted following among science fiction enthusiasts.

In her personal life, Roquette faced significant health challenges later in life. She was diagnosed with acute kidney injury in the 1990s, a condition that would affect her for many years before she underwent a successful kidney transplant in 2015. Beyond her acting pursuits, Roquette was a deeply committed adherent of Soka Gakkai International, a lay Buddhist organization rooted in the teachings of Nichiren Buddhism, which shaped much of her worldview in her later years. This spiritual devotion remained an important part of her identity throughout her life. Roquette passed away on 28 May 2020 at the age of 77 in the United Kingdom. Following her death, she was given a traditional Buddhist funeral, and her cremation took place at Beckenham Crematorium and Cemetery, in accordance with her religious beliefs. Her legacy endures through her memorable performances, particularly in Space: 1999, which continues to be celebrated by fans of vintage science fiction television.
