Suliane Brahim is a French actress born on 1 April 1978 in Chartres, France, the eldest of three children. Her father, of Moroccan descent, and her Breton mother gave her a multicultural upbringing that later informed her artistic sensibility. Raised in Bourges, she initially pursued studies in the Swahili language at the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales, aspiring to a humanitarian career before discovering her passion for the stage. Simultaneously she enrolled at the École nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre, where she received rigorous classical training that prepared her for a long‑term relationship with French theatre. In 1996 she made her professional debut in a play, marking the beginning of a career that would span more than two decades and include a coveted position as a boarder and eventually a member of the prestigious Comédie‑Française. Onstage she tackled a diverse repertoire, performing in productions such as Peer Gently, Dom Juan, Lucrezia Borgia, and Romeo and Juliet, demonstrating a versatile command of both tragic and comedic roles. Transitioning to screen in 2013, Brahim quickly accumulated a series of film and television credits, culminating in her breakthrough as Major Laurène Weiss in the France 2 thriller “Zone Blanche” (Black Spot) in 2017.
