Stanley Bernard Livingston, born on November 24, 1950, in Los Angeles, California, is a seasoned American actor, producer, director, and editor whose career in the entertainment industry spans nearly seven decades. He is best known for his iconic role as Richard "Chip" Douglas, the third son of Steve Douglas (played by Fred MacMurray), on the long-running television series My Three Sons, which aired from 1960 to 1972. Livingston and MacMurray were the only two actors in the cast who appeared throughout the entire series' run, a testament to Livingston's dedication and versatility as a performer. His younger brother, Barry Livingston, played his adopted brother "Ernie" in later seasons of the show. With the passing of Tim Considine in 2022, Livingston became the last surviving original cast member of My Three Sons, cementing his legacy as a significant figure in classic American television. Beginning his acting career in 1956, Livingston quickly became a recognizable child star, appearing in numerous television shows and films throughout the late 1950s and 1960s. He directed episodes of Cory the Clown (2001) and produced and directed documentary series such as The Actor's Journey and The Actor's Journey for Kids. He also produced and edited the feature film Checkers (2005) and contributed to In The Picture (2012), a Cinerama film. Notably, Livingston even ventured into music, releasing the single "Hairspray" b/w "Pen Pal" on Marilyn Records in 1962 when he was just eleven years old. The song became a regional hit, particularly in markets like Stockton and Boston. Throughout his life, Livingston has been married twice—first to Sandra L. Goble from 1968 to 1974, with whom he had one child, and later to Paula Drake, whom he married on December 19, 2015.
