Sandro Scarchilli (born April 22, 1934 in Rome, Italy) was a prolific Italian film actor whose career spanned the golden era of Spaghetti Westerns and the rise of Italian crime cinema. He entered the cinematic world in 1966 with a modest but memorable appearance in Sergio Leone’s legendary The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, portraying Chico, one of Tuco’s gang members, a role that placed him alongside such icons as Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach. Although his part was brief, it secured him a permanent footnote in world cinema history and introduced him to the international audience. Over the next twelve years Scarchilli became a familiar face in genre pictures, frequently cast as a henchman, doorman, or rugged townsfolk, often uncredited but essential to the atmospheric texture of the films. His filmography includes titles such as Loaded Guns (1975) where he played a park sweeper, Kidnap Syndicate (1975) as a doorman, and The Last Round (1976) where he appeared as a henchman for the famed French star Jean‑Claude Van Damme’s character. He also turned up in crime dramas like Fear in the City (1976) and Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man (1976), contributing to the gritty realism that defined the Italian poliziotteschi movement.
