Rick Yune, born Richard Yune on August 22, 1971 in Washington, D.C., is an American actor, screenwriter, producer, and martial artist of Korean descent. The son of Korean immigrants Park Wonhui and Yun Taeho, he grew up alongside his younger brother, actor Karl Yune, and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland before transferring to St. John’s College High School. Demonstrating academic prowess, Yune earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 1994, where he also interned on Wall Street and briefly worked as a hedge‑fund trader for SAC Capital before deciding to pursue entrepreneurial and creative ventures. A dedicated martial artist, Yune holds a black belt in Taekwondo and is a former Golden Gloves boxer, disciplines that later informed many of his on‑screen action performances.
