Peter Jurasik (born April 25, 1950) is an American actor whose career spans over four decades, marked by memorable television performances and a dedication to teaching the craft. Raised in Queens, New York, he was the third of four children and discovered his passion for drama while attending the University of New Hampshire, where he appeared in several campus productions. After graduating, Jurasik moved to New York City, entering the competitive world of stage and television acting in the late 1970s. His early screen work included guest spots on MacGyver and MASH*, showing a versatile range that would soon land him recurring roles on popular series. By the mid‑1980s he became a familiar face to audiences as Sid the Snitch on the critically acclaimed police drama Hill Street Blues, a role that later spun off into the short‑lived Beverly Hills Buntz. Jurasik’s most iconic performance arrived in the 1990s when he portrayed Londo Mollari, the charismatic Centauri ambassador on the science‑fiction epic Babylon 5, earning a devoted fan base and solidifying his place in genre history. He also appeared as Oberon Geiger on Sliders and delivered a memorable turn as Crom in the cult classic film Tron (1982). Beyond acting, he co‑authored the novel Diplomatic Act (1998) with William H. Keith Jr., a witty tale about actors kidnapped by aliens—a premise later echoed in Galaxy Quest.
