After completing his primary education in his native capital, López Lagar moved to Argentina in the early 1930s, attracted by the flourishing theatrical scene and the rapid expansion of the local film industry. He quickly made a name for himself on the Buenos Aires stage, where his deep baritone voice and commanding presence earned praise from critics and audiences alike. His film debut came in 1935 with the drama “Los tres aviones”, a modest production that nevertheless showcased his ability to convey complex emotions with subtle gestures.
