Nils Ole Oftebro (born 1 December 1944 in Sarpsborg, Norway) is a celebrated Norwegian actor and illustrator whose career spans more than five decades. From his early days at Fjernsynsteatret between 1969 and 1971, Oftebro quickly established himself as a versatile stage presence, earning a permanent position at the prestigious Nationaltheatret in 1971. He later took on a leadership role as artistic director of Torshovteatret from 1987 to 1989, where he championed innovative productions and nurtured emerging talent. Oftebro’s theatrical work is marked by his ability to inhabit both classical and contemporary characters, displaying a keen sense of timing, emotional depth, and an unmistakable command of the Norwegian language.
