Nello Mascia was born on 28 December 1946 in Sala Consilina, a town in the province of Salerno in southern Italy. After completing his formal education, Mascia entered the theatrical world by joining the celebrated stage company of Eduardo De Filippo, a pivotal figure in modern Italian drama. His apprenticeship under De Filippo allowed him to master both classical and contemporary repertoires, and it was during this period that he began to cultivate a reputation for versatility and emotional depth.
