Sylvette Herry, professionally known as Miou-Miou, is a sensation in French cinema, gathering a total of ten César Award nominations throughout her illustrious career. She took home the Best Actress César Award for her transcendent performance in the 1979 film, Memoirs of a French Whore. Born and raised in Paris, her stage name, Miou-Miou (mimicking the sound of a cat), was granted by Coluche. After honing her skills in improvisational theatre, she made an impressive entrance to the film industry with her roles in La vie sentimentale de Georges Le Tueur and La Cavale. Throughout her career, she has shared her talent in collaboration with acclaimed international directors such as Michel Gondry, Bertrand Blier, and Louis Malle. Some of her renowned works include This Sweet Sickness, May Fools, and Germinal.
