Mia Hansen-Løve (born 5 February 1981) is a French film director, screenwriter, and former actress. Her illustrious career in the film industry started from a young age when she discovered her passion for acting. Studying at the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Paris, she started acting in films like Late August, Early September and Sentimental Destinies. She began her directing career with shorts, including Contre-coup (2005). Her first feature film, All Is Forgiven, won her the Louis Delluc Prize for Best First Film in 2007. Hansen-Løve's other works also received multiple recognitions. Her film Father of My Children won the Special Jury Prize at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. In 2016, she won the Silver Bear for Best Director for her film Things to Come at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. Hansen-Løve's films revolve around familial and romantic relationships and their effects. Time Out writer Dave Calhoun describes Hansen-Løve's films as "intimate, realist, free of melodrama".

Hansen-Løve was also an accomplished screenwriter, having written screenplays for all her films. The themes in her movies often explore personal crisis, desire, and existentialism, inspired by her life's experiences. She explored the transitions to adulthood and the transformations involved through her trilogy - All Is Forgiven, Father of My Children, and Goodbye First Love.
