Marta Gastini (born 2 October 1989) is an Italian actress whose career has spanned both television and international cinema. She was born in Alessandria, a historic town in the Piedmont region of Italy, where she completed her elementary education before moving to pursue acting. Gastini made her professional debut in January 2009 with the Italian television miniseries Il Bene e il Male, quickly gaining attention for her poise and expressive talent. That same year she secured a starring role in the prime‑time miniseries L’uomo che cavalcava nel buio, solidifying her reputation as a promising newcomer on the small screen. On 18 December 2009 she transitioned to film, appearing in Leonardo Pieraccioni’s Me and Marilyn as Martha, the daughter of the character played by the director himself. Her breakout onto the global stage came in 2010, when at the age of twenty she starred alongside Anthony Hopkins and Colin O’Donoghue in Mikael Håfström’s The Rite, a New Line Cinema production that introduced her to a wider international audience. The following year she embodied the historical figure Giulia Farnese in the television series Borgia, a role that highlighted her versatility and ability to convey complex period characters.
