Born on September 3, 1994 in the small town of Santa María de Jesús, nestled at the foot of the Volcán de Agua, she grew up in a modest household where she helped her mother sell fruits and vegetables at the market of Palín, an experience that grounded her in the everyday realities of her community. From an early age she displayed a love for performance, participating in local folk dances and community theater productions, although formal schooling was limited to the fifth grade until a national literacy program allowed her to resume studies at seventeen. Fluent in Kaqchikel, Spanish and some Poqomam, Coroy later enrolled at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, graduating in 2016 with a degree in acting that solidified her technical training.
