Laura Prepon (/ˈpriːpɒn/ PREE-pon; born March 7, 1980) is an established American actress and director. She first gained recognition for her portrayal of Donna Pinciotti in the Fox sitcom 'That '70s Show' which aired between 1998 and 2006. Laura's work continued to receive acclaim for her role as Alex Vause in the hit Netflix comedy-drama 'Orange Is the New Black' from 2013 to 2019. Prepon's career in the film industry kick-started in 2001 with her debut in 'Southlander', an independent drama. Her filmography expanded over the years to include movies like romantic drama 'Come Early Morning' (2006), comedy 'Lay the Favorite' (2012), thriller 'The Girl on the Train' (2016), and drama 'The Hero' (2017). During her early years in New York, Laura appeared in plays such as 'A Woman of Property' and 'Ascension Day'. Her acting debut dates back to September 1997 when she featured on a Levi Strauss-developed show called 'They Go On'. In the late '90s and early 2000s, Laura further showcased her versatility by taking up modeling assignments and doing photo shoots in Paris, Milan, and Brazil. Prepon acclaimed both critics and audiences with her performances in 'Slackers' (2002) and Steve Hanft's musical comedy-drama 'Southlander' (2001). Prepon's achievements don't stop at acting, she also served as executive producer for several films. Hers was the original voice for Hayley Smith on the Fox animated sitcom 'American Dad!'.
