Kieran Kyle Culkin, born September 30, 1982, is a well-recognized American actor. Culkin made a name for himself playing Roman Roy in the HBO television series Succession from 2018 to 2023, earning a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for his outstanding performances. He began his acting career as a child in notable films like Home Alone (1990), Father of the Bride (1991), and The Mighty (1998). His career exploded onto the scene after his starring role in Igby Goes Down (2002), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He has also appeared in films such as Margaret (2011), Wiener-Dog (2016), and No Sudden Move (2021) and played Wallace Wells in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010). In 2006, Culkin made his Broadway debut in the 24 Hour Plays and returned to Broadway in the 2014 revival of Kenneth Lonergan's play This is Our Youth.

Culkin was born in New York City to a former Broadway stage actor father and a mother who was a road traffic controller. He grew up in Yorkville of Manhattan, struggling financially in his early childhood as his mother worked as a telephone operator and his father served at a local Catholic church. He began acting alongside his older brother Macaulay in Home Alone (1990). Over the years, Culkin has masterfully balanced leading roles in independent films and small roles in mainstream cinema. He received multiple accolades for his role in the HBO series Succession, including a Golden Globe Award and Primetime Emmy Award.
