Kavita Kaushik: Movies & Box Office

Kavita Kaushik (born 15 February 1981) is an Indian actress, television host and model best known for her iconic role as Chandramukhi Chautala in the long‑running SAB TV sitcom F.I.R.. Born into a Brahmin family in New Delhi, she is the daughter of former CRPF officer Dinesh Chandra Kaushik and completed a degree in Philosophy from Indraprastha College for Women. During her college years she began modelling and anchoring events, which paved the way for her move to Mumbai in 2001 after auditioning for the Ekta Kapoor‑produced series Kutumb. Her early television career included supporting roles in popular shows such as Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kohi Apna Sa, Kammal, Kahani Terrii Merrii and Piya Ka Ghar, showcasing her versatility across drama and comedy genres. In 2004 she made her Bollywood debut with a cameo in Ek Hasina Thi, and subsequently appeared in films like Mumbai Cutting and Phillum City. The breakthrough came in 2006 when she was cast as the feisty, Haryanvi‑accented police officer Chandramukhi Chautala, a character that ran for over a thousand episodes and cemented her status as a household name. Apart from acting, Kaushik has hosted reality shows including Arre Deewano Mujhe Pehchano, Box Cricket League and Fakebook with Kavita, and participated in dance competitions such as Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and the reality series Bigg Boss 14 as a wild‑card entrant. She continued to explore regional cinema with Punjabi films like Vekh Baraatan Challiyan, Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan and Mindo Taseeldarni. On the personal front, after a public relationship with actor Nikhil, she married businessman Ronnit Biswas in January 2017, and remains a prominent figure in the Indian entertainment industry, admired for her comedic timing, strong screen presence and outspoken personality.
