Josina Cornelia "Josje" Huisman was born on 16 February 1986 in Heusden, a small town in the Netherlands, to a family rooted in the church where her father served as a vicar. From an early age she displayed a keen interest in performance, taking ballet classes at school and later honing her skills at the prestigious Dansacademie Lucia Marthas in Groningen, where she completed her studies in 2008. Her dedication to the performing arts extended beyond dance, as she also pursued musical lessons that prepared her for a future on stage. The turning point in her life came when she entered the televised talent contest K2 zoekt K3, a competition designed to find a new blonde member for the beloved Belgian‑Dutch girl group K3. On 3 October 2009, Josje captured the public’s imagination and the judges’ approval, emerging as the clear winner and securing her place in the iconic trio. The victory not only launched her singing career but also prompted a relocation to Antwerp, Belgium, where she became an integral part of K3’s dynamic, contributing to four studio albums, two feature films, two television series, seven tours, and a full‑scale musical during her tenure.
