Jens Østerholm was a Danish film actor whose career spanned several decades, leaving a modest but noteworthy imprint on Scandinavian cinema. Born on 25 April 1928 in Hvissinge, Glostrup Municipality, Denmark, he grew up in the Kingdom of Denmark and would eventually become a familiar face on the silver screen during the mid-twentieth century. His acting career officially began in 1959, and he remained active in the industry until 1994, making it a career that lasted approximately 35 years. Throughout his time in film, Østerholm appeared in a total of 27 films, contributing to various Danish productions that showcased the era's cinematic style. Among his most recognizable works is the 1961 historical film Gøngehøvdingen, which remains one of his notable early performances and helped establish him as a working actor in the Danish film industry. He also appeared in Dronningens vagtmester in 1963, To in 1964, and later took part in comedic productions such as My Sisters Children Go Astray (1971) and Me, Too, in the Mafia (1974), demonstrating his versatility across different genres. In his personal life, Østerholm was married to the acclaimed Danish actress Birgitte Federspiel, though the couple eventually divorced.
