Jennifer Ruth Butler (born April 21, 1981 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American former basketball center whose career is noted for breaking new ground for the University of Massachusetts Amherst's women's program. Growing up in the vibrant neighborhoods of Brooklyn, Butler developed a passion for basketball on the courts of local community centers before earning a scholarship to Murry Bergtraum High School, a school renowned for producing elite basketball talent.
