Jayne Brook, born Jane Anderson on September 16, 1960 in Northbrook, Illinois, is an American actress whose career spans over three decades. Raised in a suburban Chicago community, she graduated from Glenbrook North High School at the youthful age of seventeen before earning a scholarship to study at New College in Oxford and later at Duke University, where she received a bachelor's degree in 1982. Her early immersion in both British and American academic environments sparked an interest in performance, leading her to the regional theatres of the United Kingdom and a brief stint as a model before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue television work. Brook made her film debut in the 1987 blockbuster Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, and soon after appeared in the ITV comedy series The Old Boy Network, showcasing her versatility across comedy and drama.
