Jake Choi, born on January 14, 1985, is an American actor predominantly recognized for his role as Miggy on the ABC comedy Single Parents. Prior to this, he had already made his mark starring in Front Cover, an LGBTQ independent film. Over the years, Choi has shown his versatile acting skills in various shows like Younger, EastSiders, and also a film named The Sun Is Also a Star.

Choi is of Korean descent and was brought up in Elmhurst, Queens, New York. Coming from a background of working-class immigrant roots, he was raised by a single mother. His initial years after high school were focused on sports, particularly basketball. Choi even moved to South Korea to play basketball at Yonsei University and the Korean Basketball League. However, he returned to the States to pursue a new found passion - acting. He began taking classes at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Institute. In his career, Choi received critical acclaim for his role as Ryan in the independent LGBTQ film, Front Cover. His performance was highly-praised. In recent years, Choi has appeared in guest roles on several popular television shows, including Broad City, Younger, and Hawaii 5-0. He also made a mark with a recurring role on HBO's Succession in 2018. As of January 2019, he has a recurring role on EastSiders, a Netflix dark comedy, and played an important role in the film adaptation of the YA novel, The Sun Is Also a Star.
