Growing up in Pretoria, she was the daughter of Pastor Hannes Bezuidenhout and Lucia Bezuidenhout, a background that fostered both discipline and creativity. She attended Hoërskool Eldoraigne in Centurion, where her passion for the performing arts blossomed, leading her to a summer program at the Royal Academy of Dance in London in 2012 and a subsequent six‑month acting intensive in New York. At the remarkably young age of eleven, Izel secured her inaugural theatre role, and by fourteen she made her cinematic debut in the 2014 teen spy thriller Agent 2000: Die Laksman, portraying Chante‑Amoré Naudé.
