Issey Ogata (イッセー尾形), born as Kazushige Ogata on 22 February 1952, is a multifaceted personality from Japan. He is not only an acclaimed actor, but also a successful comedian, model, and novelist. Ogata nursed an interest in performing arts right from his childhood, which led him to join a theatrical company after graduating from Toyotama High School. His breakthrough came when he won the gold medal at the 'Birth of Comedians' audition. This win opened many doors for him in the Japanese TV industry, with notable roles in Fuji TV's Evil Grandmother and NHK's RinRinto. Ogata also performs solo in a show titled 'Life Never Stops' at GyanGyan Theater in Shibuya.
