Helena Zarembina, born Helena Soenberg on 6 May 1895 in Mogilev, which was then part of the Russian Empire, was a distinguished Polish stage and film actress whose career spanned several decades. She was the daughter of Marcin and Florentyna Soenbergs, and her early life in Mogilev laid the foundation for her future artistic endeavors. After completing her formal education, Helena pursued her passion for acting by graduating from a prestigious Drama school in Warsaw in 1922, which marked the beginning of her professional journey in the world of theatre. This educational background provided her with the technical skills and artistic sensibility that would define her performances throughout her career. Following her graduation, she became a prominent figure in Polish theatre, performing at various venues and earning recognition for her versatility and dedication to her craft. She also ventured into the world of cinema, where she established herself as a versatile actress capable of bringing depth to her characters. Her filmography includes notable works such as Zabawka (1933), Kocha, lubi, szanuje (1934), Wacuś (1935), Antek policmajster (1935), Nie miała baba kłopotu (1935), ABC miłości (1935), Znachor (1937), Three Troublemakers (1937), Profesor Wilczur (1938), Włóczęgi (1939), Doktór Murek (1939), and Złota Maska (1939). These films showcased her ability to inhabit diverse roles and contributed to her reputation as a talented performer in Polish cinema during the interwar period. Her final film role was in the 1956 film Three Women, where she portrayed an old woman in the Warsaw Fotoplastikon, marking a poignant conclusion to her cinematic career. Her last theatrical performance was in 1955, when she played the role of cook Fedosya in the staging of the play The Government Inspector, demonstrating her continued commitment to the stage even in her later years.
