Heida Reed, born as Heiða Rún Sigurðardóttir on 22 May 1988, is a highly regarded Icelandic actress and model. Known for significant roles in 'One Day' (2011), 'Jo' (2013), 'Silent Witness' (2014), the BBC drama 'Poldark' (2015–2019) and the CBS drama 'FBI: International' (2021), she has built a reputation for her stirring performances. Raised in Breiðholt, Reykjavík, Reed was the middle child among three children from a family that valued music and hygiene, given that her father was a music teacher and her mother, a dental hygienist. She had her initiation into modeling at the age of 18 and subsequently moved to Mumbai, working there for two years before deciding to settle in London. While in London, she honed her acting talents at Drama Centre London, graduating in 2010. As of 2018, she is married to America-based producer Sam Ritzenberg. Her acting career took off in 2009 with a performance in an Edinburgh Fringe production of Camus’s 'Cross Purpose'. Her poignant portrayal in the play 'Scarlet', exploring slut-shaming and cyberbullying, gained her widespread recognition. From there, she went on to land a significant role in the historical TV drama 'Poldark', in which she played the character of Elizabeth across all five seasons. She made a notable appearance on the West End in 'Foxfinder' with Iwan Rheon in 2018, and in 2021, she began portraying FBI Special Agent Jamie Kellett in 'FBI: International'. In another notable role, she lent her voice as Professor Jocelyn Peabody in the B7 Audio adaptations of some of the Dan Dare stories that were broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra.
