Geoffrey Sax: Movies & Box Office

Geoffrey Sax, also credited as Geoff Sax, enjoys a distinguished career as a British film and television director. He has contributed significantly to a variety of drama productions in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Sax embarked on his directing journey in the late 1970s, initially focusing on comedy. He skillfully directed episodes of sketch shows such as Cannon and Ball and End of Part One. His transition into directing drama occurred in the early 1980s when he worked on episodes of acclaimed BBC dramas like Bergerac and Lovejoy. His talent continued to unfold as he spent time in America in the early 1990s, directing television films and miniseries for various US networks. His most notable work during this era was the BBC / Universal Studios / Fox Network TV movie version of the sci-fi series Doctor Who in 1996 with Paul McGann as the Doctor. His first theatrically released feature film, White Noise, entered the US Box Office top ten in 2005. He also directed films like Stormbreaker, based on Anthony Horowitz's novel, and Frankie & Alice in 2010. In 2011, Sax directed a TV film entitled Christopher and His Kind, and the TV adaptation of the M. C. Beaton novel Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death.
