Frederick Gary Allen (born August 2, 1936 in Glendale, California) was an American conservative author and political activist whose work shaped a strand of anti‑establishment thought during the Cold War era. He attended Stanford University, majoring in history, and later studied at California State University, Long Beach, where he cultivated a deep skepticism of international banking and elite political networks. By the mid‑1960s Allen had become a prominent spokesman for the John Birch Society, a far‑right organization founded by Robert W. Welch Jr., and he began contributing regularly to Conservative Digest and American Opinion magazines, delivering polemical essays that warned of a hidden “Insider” class controlling government policy. In 1968 he served as the speechwriter for former Alabama Governor George Wallace during Wallace’s third‑party presidential campaign, illustrating Allen’s willingness to align with controversial figures who shared his anti‑globalist sentiments. His most influential book, None Dare Call It Conspiracy (co‑written with Larry H. Abraham in 1972), was prefaced by Congressman John G. Schmitz and sold over four million copies, becoming a bestseller that fueled dissent during the Nixon‑McGovern election. Allen’s prolific output included a series of exposés on the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, and what he termed the “New World Order,” titles such as The Rockefeller File and Say "No!" to the New World Order (published posthumously in 1987). Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s he wrote numerous articles that linked tax policy, central banking, and international conflict to an alleged conspiracy to erode national sovereignty. Allen’s personal life was marked by his marriage and fatherhood of four children, including journalist Michael Allen, and his death on November 29, 1986 in Long Beach, California, from a liver ailment at age fifty. Despite his early death, his writings continue to be cited by contemporary conspiracy theorists and libertarian commentators, cementing his legacy as a polarizing figure in American political literature.
