Gabriela Cowperthwaite, born in 1971, is a renowned American filmmaker known for her broad expertise in various fields, including directing, scripting, producing, and editing in television and documentary films. Her most outstanding work, celebrated globally, is Blackfish (2013), which received a BAFTA nomination for Best Documentary. Born to a Brazilian psychoanalyst mother and an American real estate developer father, Gabriela hails from Denver and communicated in Portuguese during her formative years.
