Eugene Mirman (born Evgeniy Borisovich Mirman on July 24, 1974) is a Russian‑American actor, comedian and writer who has become a distinctive voice in both stand‑up comedy and animated television. Born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, he emigrated with his family to the United States at age four and grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, where he attended William Diamond Middle School and Lexington High School. After graduating from Hampshire College with a self‑designed BA in comedy, he launched a career that blends absurdist humor with musical performance, often appearing in rock venues rather than traditional comedy clubs. Mirman's first major recording, The Absurd Nightclub Comedy of Eugene Mirman (2004), earned critical acclaim and was named one of the best albums of the year by The A.V. Club and Time Out New York.
