Eugene Brave Rock: Movies & Box Office

Eugene Brave Rock is a Canadian Blackfoot actor and stuntman, originating from the Blood Tribe of Siksikasiitapiisahkoi, or Blackfoot Country. Brave Rock's career began with acting, then transitioning into stunts, and subsequently appearing in numerous television roles, which eventually led to his first high-profile film role as Chief in Wonder Woman. He was born and raised on the Kainai Nation reserve in Alberta. His exposure to acting began at the Plains Indian Cultural Survival School in Calgary, where he got his first acting role in a play. He then honed his skills as a stuntman and showcased his prowess at the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in Disneyland Paris. Post Paris, on returning to Calgary, he involved himself with several TV productions, both as an actor and a stuntman. His notable works include roles in Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, Heartland, Blackstone, Klondike, and Hell on Wheels. His skills gained recognition during the filming of The Revenant in Alberta when Brave Rock and his brother were appointed to train native stuntmen. During this time, he was contacted for an audition by Wonder Woman producers, which landed him a role in the film. On June 8, 2017, Brave Rock was honored with a 'ceremonial headdress' / war bonnet by the Blood Tribe - a rare and the highest honor given in First Nations culture. In 2022, he founded The Oki Language Project, an initiative aimed at preserving the languages and cultures of Indigenous communities throughout North America.
