Eduardo Verástegui is a Mexican actor, singer, producer and activist born on May 21, 1974 in Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He grew up in the nearby town of Xicoténcatl as the son of sugarcane farmer José Jesús Verástegui Treviño and Alicia Córdoba, in a practicing Catholic household that shaped much of his later public persona. After briefly studying law, he moved to Mexico City at seventeen to train at Televisa’s Artistic Education Center and soon joined the pop group Kairo, releasing albums such as Signo del tiempo (1994) and Gaudium (1995). Transitioning to a solo career, he issued his self‑titled album in 2001 before turning to television, appearing in telenovelas like Una luz en el camino (1998) and Alma rebelde (1999). The early 2000s marked his entry into Hollywood with roles in Chasing Papi and Bella, the latter produced by his own company Metanoia Films, which he co‑founded to create content aligned with his values. Throughout his career he has been vocal about his Catholic faith, refusing roles that conflict with his beliefs and publicly sharing his conversion story after a voice‑coaching session introduced him to Scott Hahn’s Rome Sweet Home.
