Drake Doremus (born March 29, 1983) is an accomplished American film director, screenwriter, and producer best known for his work on films such as Like Crazy (2011), Douchebag (2010), and Equals (2015). Doremus began his career in the arts at a very young age, performing on stage from the age of six and later going on to study direction at the AFI Conservatory as their youngest ever admitted fellow. A significant part of his early influence came from his mother, Cherie Kerr, who was a founding member of the iconic improv group known as The Groundlings.

His breakthrough came with his 2011 film, Like Crazy, which was lauded for its improvisational dialogue and unique approach to storytelling, clinching the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, which spins a heart-wrenching tale of long-distance relationships, was inspired by Doremus' real-life experiences. In 2012, he directed The Beauty Inside, a six-part social film for Intel and Toshiba, earning a Daytime Emmy for his innovative approach. Over the years, Doremus has shown a knack for rich character development and relatable narratives, as evident in films like Breathe In, Equals, and Newness. His work often includes collaborations with Ben York Jones and actor Matthew Gray Gubler. Drake reflects his personal experiences in his works, with his film Like Crazy deeply rooted in the eight-year-long-distance relationship he had been in.
