Daniel Robert Elfman, born May 29, 1953, is an acclaimed American film composer, singer, songwriter, and musician, whose career spanning over five decades began with his role as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter for the new wave band Oingo Boingo. Elfman has created music for over 100 feature films, television shows, stage productions, and concert halls. He is especially recognized for his close professional relationship with director Tim Burton, for whom he scored nearly 20 projects, including iconic films such as 'Beetlejuice', 'Edward Scissorhands', and 'Batman'. Elfman also worked closely with directors Sam Raimi and Gus Van Sant, contributing scores for films like 'Spider-Man' and Academy Award-winning films 'Good Will Hunting' and 'Milk'.
