Daniel Zovatto: Movies & Box Office

Daniel Zovatto Blanco, born on June 28, 1991, is a celebrated Costa Rican and American film and television actor recognized for his performances since 2012. He found prominence in the horror genre with films like Beneath (2013), It Follows (2014), and Don't Breathe (2016), followed by significant roles in The Pope's Exorcist (2023) and Woman Of The Hour (2024). Zovatto made his television debut in 2014, guest-starring in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and since then appeared in recurring roles in Revenge (2014) and Fear the Walking Dead (2016). In 2018, he played a lead role in HBO's Here And Now and later cast in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels as the series protagonist in 2020.

Born in San José Costa Rica, his fascination with the horror genre goes back to his childhood when his father introduced him to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. After getting his start in theater in New York, he moved to Los Angeles, made his movie debut in Beneath (2013). In 2014, he ventured into television with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and had a 3-episode arc in Revenge. Around the same time, he worked in the romantic comedy Laggies and the critically acclaimed film It Follows. Zovatto performed a leading role in Don't Breathe, which premiered in March 2016 and secured a recurring role in Fear the Walking Dead. In 2017, he was cast in Lady Bird and Newness. He returned to the silver screen with independent movies Vandal and Heavy in 2018 & 2019 respectively. His recent work includes Flinch, Station Eleven, and Woman of the Hour.
