Colette Marie Claudette Brosset was a celebrated French actress, comedian, playwright, and choreographer whose career spanned over five decades in theater, film, and television. Born on 21 February 1922 in Paris, France, she became one of the most recognizable comedic figures in post-war French entertainment, particularly through her long-standing collaboration with her husband, Robert Dhéry. She married Dhéry in 1942, and the couple remained together until his death in 2004, frequently performing together both on stage and screen in productions that blended comedy, music, and theatricality.

Brosset made her film debut in 1937 with Un coup de rouge and quickly established herself in French cinema during the late 1930s and 1940s, appearing in films such as Thérèse Martin (1938), Star Without Light (1946), and Master Love (1946). Her early work showcased her versatility, allowing her to transition between dramatic and comedic roles with ease. She became particularly well known for her performances in classic French comedies, including Les Aventures des Pieds-Nickelés (1948), Branquignol (1949), Bernard and the Lion (1951), and Ah! Les belles bacchantes (1954), in which she often starred alongside her husband.

In 1959, Brosset achieved international recognition when she joined the rest of the cast of La Plume de Ma Tante on Broadway, with the entire troupe awarded a prestigious Special Tony Award for their contribution to the theater. The show was a landmark in French comedic revue and was performed in English translation on the New York stage. She continued to appear in popular French comedies throughout the 1960s, including La Belle Américaine (1961), Allez France! (1964), La Communale (1965), and the beloved classic La Grande Vadrouille (1966), in which she played the role of Germaine. She also had a small uncredited role in the internationally acclaimed war film Is Paris Burning? (1966).

Brosset remained active in film and television through the 1970s and 1980s, with notable roles in The Little Bather (1968), Vos gueules les mouettes! (1974), Jack, or The Submission (1977), and her final appearances in the 1987 television miniseries Qui c'est ce garçon? and the 1988 TV series Série noire. She passed away on 1 March 2007 in Paris, at the age of 85, leaving behind a rich legacy in French comedic cinema and revue theater.
