Christine Horne is a prolific Canadian actress, born on December 14, 1981, in Aurora, Ontario. She made her first official entry into the acting field in 2006 and since then has established herself as a remarkable stage actor in Toronto. Christine is a very dedicated and versatile actress having received her BFA in Theatre at York University in 2004, where she took her first steps towards her successful acting career. Over the years, she received numerous nominations and awards for her spectacular acting skills. These include three Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female in a Principal Role, of which she won in 2010 for her role as The Governess in The Turn of the Screw. In addition to her prowess on the stage, she's had a remarkable career in television and film as well. In 2019, Christine proudly played Prince Hamlet in Ravi Jain's gender-flipped adaptation of Hamlet, opposite Ho Ka Kei as Ophelia - a testament to her adaptability as an actress. Christine won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Guest Performance in a Drama Series at the 4th Canadian Screen Awards in 2016 for an appearance in Remedy, and was nominated in the same category at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards in 2017 for an appearance in Saving Hope. She was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Canadian Film for her role as the young Hagar Shipley in The Stone Angel at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards 2007. Christine is married to television writer and producer Mike McPhaden.
