Following his education from the Icelandic Arts Academy, he graduated in the year 2001. His artistic pursuits didnt stop there. Simultaneously, he also co-founded a theatre company called Vesturport. This innovative endeavour established him in the world of theatre, testifying his multifaceted approaches towards art. His career in acting took off when he got the opportunity to star in a riveting psychological TV series thriller called 'Fortitude' in the spring of 2015. Besides this, he has been acclaimed for roles in noted films like 'Eleven Men Out' and 'Jar City'. Hlynur's career took an exciting turn when he played the character of King Eist in Netflix's adaptation of the famous series 'The Witcher'. Furthermore, his roles as Pétur in the movie 'Lamb', produced by A24, and as Rikki in 'Cop Secret' were equally noteworthy, contributing significantly to his diverse and impressive filmography.
