Born in the small town of Nykøbing Falster, Denmark, she grew up during a period of cultural renewal and showed an early fascination with the performing arts, attending local drama workshops before being discovered by a Copenhagen talent scout. Reimer made her screen debut in the 1947 drama Soldaten og Jenny, quickly establishing herself as a versatile presence capable of shifting between comedic timing and dramatic depth.
