Barney Furey, born Charles Manford Furey on September 7, 1886, in Boise, Idaho, was a prolific American actor who carved out a remarkable career during the silent film era and into the early talkie period. Known professionally by his nickname Barney, Furey appeared in more than 100 films throughout his career, which spanned an impressive 25 years from 1912 to 1937. His work during this transformative period of American cinema placed him among the many talented performers who helped shape the early Hollywood film industry, working alongside the era's most prominent directors and fellow actors. Furey's filmography showcases remarkable versatility, as he took on roles in a wide variety of genres including westerns, dramas, and adventure films.
