Anne Fletcher (born May 1, 1966) is a multifaceted American artist, well known for her contributions to films as a choreographer, film director, dancer, and actress. The dancer turned director has a rich portfolio, having directed the films Step Up (2006), 27 Dresses (2008), The Proposal (2009), The Guilt Trip (2012), Hot Pursuit (2015), Dumplin' (2018), and Hocus Pocus 2 (2022). Fletcher was born Anne Marie Fletcher in Detroit, Michigan. Following an early interest in dance, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a dancing career after high school, where she trained under choreographer Joe Tremaine. Key career milestones include her association with Adam Shankman, starting as his assistant choreographer which later facilitated her transition to film direction. As a choreographer, she worked on films such as The Flintstones (1994), The Mask (1994), and Titanic (1997).

After amassing numerous professional choreography credits, Fletcher moved forward to consider a directorial career. This transition was realized with her directorial debut on Step Up (2006). Besides directing, she also continued to choreograph diverse films like Ice Princess and The Pacifier in 2005. Her directorial ventures, most notably The Proposal (2009), brought massive commercial success, making it the 7th highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time. Mixed fortunes followed as some of her films underperformed in comparison to her previous works like The Guilt Trip (2012) and Hot Pursuit (2015). She made her way to the digital space with Dumplin', her first Netflix-released film. Fletcher made a successful return to the mainstream with Hocus Pocus 2, the sequel to Hocus Pocus, which was released on Disney+ in 2022.
