Aitor Arregi Arrieta (born 19 May 1990) is a Spanish professional footballer who occupies the centre‑back position, known for his aerial ability and tactical awareness. Raised in the Basque town of Bergara, he entered the youth ranks of SD Eibar, where he honed his defensive skills before making his senior debut with the club’s reserve side in the 2009‑10 Tercera División season. After three seasons with the B team, Arregi earned a full promotion to Eibar’s first squad in September 2011, signing a two‑year contract that marked the beginning of his professional breakthrough. During the 2012‑13 campaign he appeared in twenty‑five league matches, contributed a crucial goal, and helped Eibar secure promotion to the Segunda División, a milestone that highlighted his growing importance. He made his Segunda División debut on 31 August 2013 in a 1‑1 draw against UD Las Palmas, showcasing composure against higher‑level competition. The following summer he was loaned to Cádiz CF in the third tier, where he added valuable playing time before terminating his contract with Eibar in July 2015. Subsequent years saw Arregi become a journeyman of Spain’s lower leagues, representing clubs such as La Roda CF, SD Leioa, CD El Ejido, Racing de Ferrol and SD Amorebieta, where he was instrumental in the historic promotion of the latter to the Segunda División for the first time in 2021. In January 2022 he transferred to UD Logroñés in the Primera División RFEF, continuing to display leadership at the back.
