Rajaram and his wife Lakshmi are a prosperous couple who have no children. Their friend Manikkam persuades them to adopt a baby whose mother died in childbirth. The child is whispered about as evil and haunted, even said to have claimed the life of an assistant who dared to intervene while following the orders of Kolli malai Swamy. The couple names the child Raja, and as he grows, his darkness deepens.

As Raja reaches maturity, his malevolence becomes more pronounced. He harbors a dangerous obsession with Manikkam’s daughter Devi, yet she loves the brave military officer Jagan. This love triangle fuels Raja’s schemes as he attempts to lure and seduce Devi, forcing Jagan to confront the threat head-on. Devi, determined to prove herself, seeks solace in temple visits and spiritual remedies, a path that draws in more spiritual and protective forces.

Jagan’s friend VV Janardhan insists that Raja is nothing less than an evil spirit who must be stopped before he fully turns into a monster. The trio—Jagan, Janardhan, and Rajaram—set out toward the sacred Kolli hills in search of a plan to end Raja’s reign. But their journey is fraught with tragedy: during the expedition, Rajaram and Janarthanan are killed, cutting short any chance of a peaceful resolution. As Raja presses his advances and defies all attempts to check him, Jagan confronts him directly, only to be overwhelmed by Raja’s dark power.

In a climactic turn, Devi manifests in the form of a goddess to confront the evil at its source and delivers a final, decisive blow, stabbing Raja and ending his reign of terror. The story settles into a grim reckoning between mortal desire, spiritual defense, and a malevolent force that refuses to fade quietly, leaving a lasting impression of fear, faith, and the price of unchecked power.
